Welcome to my page
Hi, I am Michelle. I paint. Because the urge to create is powerful, amazing and strong. I have painted since I was little, and learned it from my mother and brother, and I’ve attended some art courses too. I have put it away several times during my life, but late 2021 some kind friends literally put some brushes and som oil paint in my hands and said: “Start painting again please”. I have wise friends. So I did what they said. And now I can’t stop.
Why art?
My admiration for how overwhelmingly much beauty there is around us; how everything is connected og and in harmony is what drives me to make art. At best, I consider myself a novice, in all aspects of life really. But making art is for me an outlet for all the stimuli I get daily, just by opening my eyes and seeing the world around me. I am often left almost breathless just in admiration of beauty the in nature. I like combining different styles in art; mixing the raw abstract interpretation of a certain object, with a more life-like motif. Preferably mixing different materials from nature; the fabric of the canvas, metallics and the motif itself. It´s bringing the best out from all those worlds together. Inspiration and creativity is a flame within it self, a wonderful gift, and an outlet to celebrate life. Thank you for visiting me here.
Feeling of connection in art
What can make you feel connected to a piece of art? I like art that takes me places I can’t get to myself for one reason or another. I want eye contact. With a lion, or an Orca, or a person. Like they invite me to their world, to their scene that they are a part of in the painting. Like the lions are on their way walking into my living room. Or an orca came by to see who I am and greet me. I want to feel like I’m there with them. And I want to bring that feeling on to the canvas - and home to you too.
